OUR PIECE OF THE PUZZLE: Civic engagement, getting out the vote
Door-to-Door Democracy began in early 2024 as an initiative to engage and educate voters in the most underrepresented rural areas of New Jersey. We are on the ground knocking on doors and having face-to-face conversations with friends and neighbors about the issues; working to register voters; educating citizens about the nuts and bolts of our democracy; and getting out the vote for the campaigns, candidates, and policies that promote the democratic values we so strongly believe in.
Since then, we have amassed a stellar record of endorsing candidates and helping get them over the finish line successfully — backing all three winning candidates (Senator Andy Kim, New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill, and now NJ-7 Democratic candidate Rebecca Bennett) in the races we've chosen to focus on.
Today, in the age of Trump – when so much of our political life and discourse has been nationalized – we continue our efforts to extend our outward reach and impact by forming partnerships and coalitions with other grassroots groups, allowing a larger and stronger pro-democracy movement to grow and take deeper root organically.

With our endorsed candidate Rebecca Bennett's primary victory on June 2, D2DD extends its perfect record of endorsing candidates, going three for three since our founding.
But we don't just endorse candidates – we work on their behalf (and yours too!)
